Humanarian is a song sung by the pets in What Did You Say?. It is a result of their speculation as to whom a human being would see if they got sick (if pets see a veterinarian, humans must see a... humanarian!), which leads to obsession with the new made-up word in the form of the song.
It appears to be a homage to early 1980s New Wave / Synthpop and the early days of MTV, circa 1981 or 1982. The song is a parody of Jem and the Holograms; Penny Ling looks like Shana and Minka looks like Jem. The song itself sounds somewhat inspired by The Human League's Don't You Want Me.
