Super Sunil is the fifteenth episode of the second season of Littlest Pet Shop and the forty-first episode overall.
Overview[]
Sunil thinks he has super powers. Meanwhile, Blythe locates the perfect spot for the Sweet Delights truck.
Summary[]
As Sunil peers into an ant farm wondering what it is, Blythe passes by and identifies it as such. As soon as he realizes it is meant to hold insects, Sunil scrams and hides beneath Pepper's tail, prompting Pepper to force Sunil back into the open. Sunil tells the other pets that he's afraid of insects of every kind, which Blythe overhear and points out that the farm is empty and that there's nothing to worry about—until Mrs. Twombly realizes the box of bugs has a hole in it and its inhabitants have escaped. The bugs all make their way onto Sunil and causes him to shriek at such a high pitch that the nearby dogs go berserk, including Zoe.
By the time Jasper comes by to visit, the dogs have already wrecked the main room and left. Jasper provides not-so-helpful commentary he takes from his comic book, Super Sam, provoking Blythe to hand him a broom and make him help clean up. Mrs. Twombly finds Sunil hiding in the ant farm and shakes him out. Sunil sulks to Penny Ling, who tries in vain to help him deal with being afraid, as she has experience in it herself. Sunil looks for some other place to hide, and as Penny continues to help with cleaning, she finds Jasper's Super Sam comic book that fell to the floor.
Jasper tells Blythe that he needs to go meet up with his mom for lunch and leaves the shop, forgetting his comic book, which reminds Blythe to meet up with Youngmee and her aunt Christie to help with their Sweet Delights truck. Russell steps up, saying that he did his own thinking and Web-searching for good food truck locations around the city, convincing Blythe to take him along. Russell subsequently spends his time on the Sweet Delights truck scarfing down cupcakes in front of Sugar Sprinkles.
Penny witnesses Sunil getting scared by a dust bunny and cooks up the myth of El Cobra Cobra, a superhero with the combined strengths of bugs, and that the bugs develop an affinity for Sunil because he is their chosen leader. Sunil does not buy that story, however, and walks away, although Penny has already planned for this and starts working on something.
Russell provides Blythe with a bogus tip that an upcoming block is a good place for food trucks, as many people walk by there and no other food trucks have claimed it. However, the moment that Christie starts pulling over, a sandwich truck the length of the entire block barges in and claims the location. As they confront the driver of the sandwich truck, they discover Monban in the passenger's seat. After witnessing a curious customer stomp away highly dissatisfied, Blythe discovers Whittany and Brittany Biskit in the front commanding the operation. Blythe tries to ask them to move the truck, but naturally, they refuse. The Biskit Twins give a spiel that their strategy is not about the type of food they sell, but to eliminate the competition by taking up all of the food truck space in Downtown City. Soon enough, a police officer comes by and gives the Sweet Delights truck a parking violation ticket. Russell attempts to stop him to no avail, but the officer's dog gives Russell the advice of arriving at exactly 9:30 AM to ensure they get the spot. Anytime before that, and the officer will issue a ticket (pointing out that he really loves to issue tickets), and after that, other food trucks will crowd the block's curbside.
Back at the Littlest Pet Shop, Russell relays this information to Blythe, and as she heads next door to tell Youngmee, Penny requests for Blythe to design a superhero suit for Sunil, as well as one for herself to be El Cobra Cobra's sidekick. When Blythe finishes and puts it in a box, Penny slides it out in front of Sunil, tripping him, She gets him into El Cobra Cobra suit and puts on her suit as Pandamonium. The other pets, in on the act, stage Pepper in distress to make him think he flew over to rescue her. Convinced that he is now a superhero, Sunil dashes out the door to look for pets in trouble, to the worry of the other pets.
At 9:29 AM the following morning, Blythe gives the signal to head to the curb. As Christie pulls out, Blythe spots the sandwich truck right behind them and gives chase. The sandwich truck gets stuck behind some slow drivers, so Monban recalculates an alternate route and reprograms the traffic lights to favor the sandwich truck, getting Christie stuck at a red light long enough for the sandwich truck to beat Sweet Delights to the curb. As Christie waits, Russell sees the police officer helping an old lady and her dog, which gives Russell an idea.
Sunil soon finds a chinchilla on the floor of the Littlest Pet Shop trying to get a chew toy on a top shelf. Sunil, believing he can walk on walls due to Penny's assistance, heads up the shelf and retrieves it. With his head in the clouds, Sunil runs about helping out visiting pets in any way he can, obliviously requiring the help of Minka and Vinnie as well. Heading to Blythe's bedroom, which he calls his secret lair, he sees Mary Frances tangling a woman in his leash. Sunil leaps down from the open window, but Penny catches him with a hook and pulls him back up. She confesses to Sunil that he has no powers and that it was all made up to try to build some confidence in him. In response, Sunil throws down his domino mask and stomps away.
Blythe comes back to the shop with a plan she discussed with Russell to beat the Biskit Twins, though Sunil sits in a corner, refusing to participate. Russell's idea is that Monban will cut off drivers and manipulate traffic lights but must stop for pedestrians. With Sugar Sprinkles keeping track of the Sweet Delights truck's location and that of the sandwich truck when it's in sight, Blythe strategically heads towards pedestrian crossing zones and walks across as slowly as possible to slow down the sandwich truck. As it becomes clear Blythe will not let the sandwich truck reach its destination by 9:30, Brittany instructs Monban to turn around, then squirts orange soda pop at Blythe as she walks by the nozzle. The sticky liquid keeps Blythe and all of the accompanying pets immobilized, allowing the Biskit Twins an unobstructed path to the block.
When everyone else believes all hope is lost, Sunil realizes he has a unique talent: Sunil asks Penny to scare him, and after a bit of hesitation, she roars at him, causing him to emit another supersonic shriek that sends a large pack of dogs scampering in front of the sandwich truck, stopping it just long enough for the Sweet Delights truck to beat it to the curb.
The Sweet Delights truck proves a success at this location, and Penny points out that Sunil was brave enough to not give up and try something. Penny suggests the superhero name Supersonic Sunil and that the two of them may want to try the hero gig some other time.
